PMDD is often misdiagnosed, as women are more likely to receive a bipolar disorder diagnosis. PMDD is not the same as PMS. PMDD care is often surrounded by misinformation — from being brushed off as “just bad PMS” to being told the only option is birth control or antidepressants.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my early 20s and have spent over a decade navigating medical systems, collaborating with doctors and specialists, and researching different approaches to healing and management. Along the way, I’ve gathered hard-earned knowledge about what helps, what to expect, and how to advocate for yourself when you feel dismissed or unheard.
